The holidays are among us!!!

Happy Holidays to everyone. This year has come and gone so fast. I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner. I put my Christmas decorations up a little earlier than usual this year. Typically, I do the second week of Dec. but this time I decided to decorate the week after Thanksgiving. I always thought people were decorating to early when I use to see them outside hanging lights and seeing people already having their trees up and decorated. I guess it’s really about just when you feel like getting into the holiday spirit. I love looking at houses and comparing to see which ones have the best decorations. This year Niyah was not around to help decorate because she was already back at school. Boy, do I miss those moments. Sure, I could have waited for when she came home for her break but that would have been late for me to decorate. So now my husband helps me with the tree, but I decorate the house by myself because I like things a certain way.

If you are a parent that buys your child gifts for the holidays, I don’t know about you but it’s stressful and damn right expensive sometimes. For me, I run out of things to buy. I always think about what does Niyah need. Then I ask myself what is it that she wants. In reality she really doesn’t need anything because she gets what she needs throughout the year anyway. When you get into the things that our kids want, it gets expensive but hey something has to go under the tree. Niyah being almost 20 it’s all about technology. I am just going to assume it’s probably a generation thing since this upcoming generation technology is everywhere. SOOOO I am torn this year about what to get her. My goal this year is to spread the Christmas love and bring another child some holiday joy. Sometimes it’s not just all about us/yourself around the holiday but helping someone else in their time of need.
