Exploring the ARTS
I’m a little late posting this but better late than never right. So we went out and explored the ARTS on Memorial Day at the Philadelphia Art Museum. I haven’t been there is years. Niyah always wants to go but as time flies so does the weekends. It always felt like the weekends always go so fast and w have so many things to do. Well we finally decided to just get up and go. It was such a great experience. There was so much to see in such little time we had. We were there for about 2 1/2/hrs but there were some exhibits we missed and have to go back to see. I recommend at least spending the day there so you could look at all the pictures and read about them. I really liked how they had a new exhibit that focused on African American Art from local artist. The exhibit was called New Grit: Art & Philly Now.
Going to see different art displayed and actually stopping and reading about it makes the experience even better. I felt like I was in a movie at times staring at a piece of art and trying to decipher the meaning behind it without reading about it first. I have never been that much in aw over pictures and art before. Even taking a step back and looking at Niyah actually looking and learning about different artist, art pieces and it’s history was really joyful. Not being on her phone and appreciating the art that surrounded her and even just giving me the time of day made me feel special. I love her so much and I can’t wait to get back to the Art Museum to explore more. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy.
